Hello and welcome to the New Year and the Spring term.

We are learning all about 'Our Precious World' this term. Both reception classes are beginning by looking at the continent of Africa. We will be comparing the climate, food, culture and animals found in Wales to those found in various places in Africa.
We will be finding more out about life for children in Uganda by chatting to Mrs. Richards who will soon be visiting out twin school - Sikusi Primary in Mbale. We would be grateful for any jungle animals and stories related to the topic or any artefacts from Africa..

After January 31st we will move on to celebrate the Chinese New Year.So the children will have the chance to taste some chinese food. As always, let us know about any allergies.

The reception children are making fantastic progress with their reading - so keep up the good work at home and continue to return folders on the stated days.
Thankyou Miss Jervis

It's Snowing!

Hi everyone,

Ihope you all had fun in the snow over the long weekend!  I can't believe how much we had!  My car looked like a snowball! I hope you all built snowmen and had lots of adventures to tell us all tomorrow.

I sent home the letter as to what we are up to this term.  Please fill in the sheets 'Let's Pretend' when you have discussed it with your families as to what you would like to find out about in the topic.  We are still looking at bears this week.  if you have any good stories please bring them to school.  Craig brought a lovely story in for us last week.

Our talk topic this week is SNOW!!!  please discuss everything about snow and think of some good WOW words for us to use this week!

Have a safe journey to school in the morning, take care.

Bye for now Miss Jervis

Hi all!

Hi everyone,

Well done to the children who have brought their reading bags in this week and have been practising their sounds and words each night!  Keep it up!  Please can parents write in the book so that I know how well your child has done through the week!  Thanks.  (Please just concentrate on the single sounds do not worry about the blends at this point, unless your child is ready).

It was great catching up with you all at the reading evening and also parents evening.  thanks for your continued support.

We are getting really busy with our Christmas preparations in our Area and we are trying really hard to learn all the songs.  I can't wait to see all the costumes!  I really love this time of year!

I'm sure the children have told you we have some new additions to our class we have some gold fish!  The children have been super at helping look after them and making sure they have their food!  Well done!

In the next couple of weeks we will be busy with the concert and using our PE hall time to prepare for the concert, so don't worry about bringing kits on Tuesday.  We will still make sure we do plenty of physical activities outdoors.

Thanks very much

Exciting times ahead

Welcome to Reception!

Hi all,

Welcome to the reception class. The children have settled in really well and are getting used to the new routines and classroom.

I'm sure you have all read the letter we sent out about the term ahead of us.  If you have any queries please call in and see me.  Thanks for all completing the sheets on 'All About Me'.  We have already looked at some ideas that were suggested, such as how tall we are and labelling the parts of the body. I am getting to know all the new faces now!

Can i remind you that PE day is a Tuesday and that children need to bring a pair of wellies to school as we will be starting Forest School shortly.

We have a fun term ahead of us!

Bye for now!
